VanLife Connect service listing helper
Prepare a clear, useful service listing
Use the prompt below to work through your service details and prepare wording for your VanLife Connect profile. The AI will ask questions before drafting, so the listing reflects what you actually offer.
Copy the prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or another AI chat assistant. Answer its questions, review the draft, then add the final details and documents to your profile in the app.
Start with the listing prompt
It helps you write the service description, set out your price, prepare photo captions and check what still needs to be completed in your profile.
- ChatGPT
- Claude
- Gemini
- Grok
- Other AI chat assistants
The AI prepares draft wording only. You add your photos, certificates, insurance documents, price and availability to the relevant sections in the app, then check everything before publishing.
Keep private information out of the AI chat
Don’t share passwords, payment details, identity-document numbers or your full home address. You can tell the AI which qualifications or insurance you hold without uploading documents that contain personal information.
What makes a good service listing?
A useful listing gives a traveller enough information to decide whether your service is right for them. Be specific, show genuine examples of your work and be clear about price, location and any limits.
Service description
The “Service Experience & Details” field allows up to 1,000 characters. Say what you do and where first, then list the jobs you take on, relevant experience and important limits.
Price
Choose Request a Quote or enter a confirmed fixed price in AUD. For a fixed price, select Hour, Day or Job and explain what it includes.
Photos and descriptions
Add genuine photos of your work, finished results, equipment or the service being provided. Each photo description can be up to 200 characters.
Qualifications and insurance
Upload relevant, current documents in the appropriate sections of the app. Only claim qualifications, licences or insurance you actually hold.
Availability
Set your availability in the Schedule tab. Mention useful booking details in your description, such as notice required or days you usually take bookings.
Practical details
Explain your service area, whether you travel to the customer, equipment or parts needed, access requirements, vehicle types you work on and work you don’t do.
Check your listing before publishing
- The first sentence says what you do and where.
- The jobs you offer are specific and easy to understand.
- Your experience and credentials are accurate.
- Your price, pricing unit and inclusions are clear.
- Your photos show your real service, work or equipment.
- Photo descriptions are factual and within 200 characters.
- Relevant certificates or insurance documents are uploaded.
- Your Schedule tab reflects your actual availability.
Too vague
“Handyman available. Good rates. Contact me.”
More useful
“I provide [confirmed jobs] for travellers around [service area]. I can [confirmed travel or access details]. Pricing is [confirmed price or request a quote].”
This is a structure only. Replace the brackets with your own confirmed details.
