For certain regulated services, yes. Providers offering services that legally require a licence or insurance (for example electrical, plumbing or gas work) must hold the appropriate licences and any insurance required by law. Relevant licence and insurance documents must also be uploaded to the platform before those services can be offered.
For other services that are not legally regulated, insurance is recommended but not compulsory.
Travellers may see “Licence Provided” and “Insured” badges displayed on a Provider’s service profile. These badges indicate that documents have been uploaded through the platform. If a Provider does not display an insurance badge, it may mean they have not uploaded proof of insurance or they do not hold relevant insurance.
VanLife Connect does not independently verify, audit or guarantee licences, insurance policies, qualifications or credentials uploaded by Providers unless expressly stated otherwise. Travellers should make their own enquiries and use their own judgement before engaging services.
If VanLife Connect becomes aware that a Provider is offering regulated services without the legally required licences or insurance, the platform may suspend or remove the relevant service or account.
