What are verification badges and what do they mean?

Verification badges are little check marks on profiles that indicate a user has provided certain credentials or met trust milestones. On VanLife Connect, you may see:

  • ID Verified – The user’s identity has been confirmed.  This is done either as part of the stripe account setup required for a service provider or a verification process such as Stripe Identity.
  • ID Provided – The user has uploaded a government identification document to their profile. This document is not verified by VanLife Connect.
  • Licence Provided – The user has uploaded a trade or professional licence (for example an electrician’s licence). VanLife Connect does not verify whether the licence is valid or current.
  • Insured – The user has uploaded proof of insurance for their services (such as public liability insurance). This information is displayed for transparency but is not verified by VanLife Connect.

Campfire Score – A colour-coded badge (green, amber, or red flame) showing the user’s overall rating and reliability score. This score combines their review history and any dispute or cancellation factors. A green flame indicates a strong, positive record.

Badges give a quick snapshot of trust. They update automatically (for example, if a document expires or is removed, the badge might disappear). Always click on a user’s profile to see their badges and what they represent.
